1. Enrollment categories of international students

A. Chinese language students

(1) Applicants for Chinese language study should have a high school graduation certificate or above, hold a valid passport and have strong learning ability and good learning habits.

(2) The study period for Chinese language is one academic year or half a academic year.

B. Undergraduate

(1) Applicants for a bachelor's degree should have a high school graduation or equivalent, and have a score of 180 or more in the new version of HSK (Chinese Proficiency Test) Level 4.

(2) Four years of study period for undergraduates (five years for architecture majors). International students obtain the required credits and pass the thesis defense, and the corresponding graduation certificate and degree will be awarded by Hunan Institute of Engineering.

(3) Courses for undergraduate mainly consists of electrical, mechanical, textile, chemical, management and other professional groups, with a total of 55 undergraduate majors. You can log in to the school's homepage (https://www.hnie.edu.cn) for details of the institution settings (teaching units).

C. Master degree students

(1) Applicants for a master's degree should have a bachelor's degree or equivalent and a score of 180 or more in the new version of HSK (Chinese Proficiency Test) Level 5.

(2) Master's degree students will have a two-and-a-half-year length of study and will study in the same class with Chinese students. International students obtain the required credits and pass the thesis defense, and the corresponding graduation certificate and degree will be awarded by Hunan Institute of Engineering.

(3) The graduate majors of Hunan Institute of Engineering mainly include:

1) Material and chemical engineering, divided into three fields of material engineering, chemical engineering and textile engineering, including environmental functional materials and new catalytic materials, functional electronic materials and lightweight materials, fine chemicals, chemical products and process design and development, Biomass conversion engineering and separation engineering, textile materials and textile processing, clothing design and engineering, textile and clothing business management and marketing in eight directions.

2) Energy and power major, divided into three fields of electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, and power engineering, including new energy power generation and control, special motors and smart appliances, power electronics and power transmission, power systems and control, electrical testing technology and faults Diagnosis, electrical intelligent control technology, dynamic analysis design and control of new energy equipment, electromechanical system design and control, structural reliability and digital design, material forming manufacturing technology and equipment, air conditioning, refrigeration and low-grade thermal energy utilization, building energy-saving technology, Solar energy comprehensive utilization technology and other directions.

2. Application for admission

A. Qualifications Required

(1) Foreign citizen with non-criminal record, good health, and over 18 years old;

(2) Good conduct, abide by Chinese laws and regulations, respect Chinese customs and habits, and abide by school rules and regulations;

(3) Good grades, with certain ability of listening, speaking, reading and writing in Chinese or English;

(4) Possess the corresponding academic certificate.

B. Applying time

Before June 30,2020, all documents must be sent to the EMAIL: lxshnie@hnie.edu.cn before the deadline for application.

C. Materials to be submitted for application

(1) "Hunan Institute of Engineering Application Form for International Students in China", an electronic version filled out by the applicant;

(2) "Family Information Form for International Students from Hunan Institute of Technology", an electronic version filled out by the applicant;

(3) A scanned copy of the passport must be valid for more than 1 year;

(4) Scanned copy of graduation certificate or degree certificate and scanned copy of transcript. Documents in languages other than Chinese or English must be attached with notarized Chinese/English translations;

(5) Chinese Proficiency Test (HSK) transcripts, valid within two years;

(6) Study plan during studying abroad;

(7) A scanned copy of the "Foreigner Physical Examination Form" (Chinese or English), the validity period must be within 6 months;

(8) The certificate of no criminal record shall be valid within 6 months. Documents in languages other than Chinese or English must be attached with notarized Chinese/English translations;

(9) Applicants for master's degree students must provide two recommendation letters from supervisors, including the applicant's academic ability, performance, personality, etc.;

(10) Applicants for a master's degree must provide a Chinese/English study and research plan in China, with no less than 800 words.

D. Fees and scholarships

(1) Tuition

Chinese language students: 12,000RMB Per year

Bachelor degree student:13,000-15,000RMB Per year

Master degree students:20,000RMB Per year

(2) Scholarship policy

(3) Other expenses

Insurance fee, medical examination fee, residence permit processing fee and other expenses shall be paid by the students themselves after enrollment.

5. Enrollment time

In principle, language students and degree students start school in September each year.

3. Application and admission steps

A. Download FORMS from the website, or contact the International Students Office of the International Exchange Center of Hunan Institute of Engineering to obtain the "Application Form for International Students of Hunan Institute of Engineering" and "Family Information Form of International Students of Hunan Institute of Engineering" and send it to the designated mailbox.

B. Download the "Physical Examination Form for Foreigners" and have a physical examination at the local public hospital. Applicants should strictly follow the required items in the "Foreigner Physical Examination Form" for inspection. The "Foreigner Physical Examination Form" that is missing, does not have a photo of the person posted or is not stamped on the photo, without the signature and seal of the doctor and the hospital, and without the date of examination is invalid. "Foreigner Physical Examination Form" is valid for 6 months;

C. Prepare other required application materials, and send scanned copies of all application materials to the designated mailbox.

D. The International Exchange Center of Hunan Institute of Technology organizes on-campus experts to conduct a preliminary review of the application materials;

E. The International Exchange Center will arrange video or on-site interviews for applicants who have passed the preliminary review of the materials. Applicants who fail the interview will not be admitted.

F. The admission result will be notified to the applicant by email;

G.Send the "Admission Notice" and "Visa Application Form" (JW202 Form) to the admitted students in the fall before the end of the month.

Remarks: No matter whether the applicant is admitted or not, the above application materials will not be returned.
