On November 3, the 19th "Challenge Cup" National College Student Extracurricular Academic Science and Technology Competition was successfully concluded at Nanjing University. Our school project "Intelligent Gloves: high-precision translation system based on self-supply energy and flexible sensing" won the national special award, which achieved a historic breakthrough in the competition.
This competition is co-sponsored by the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League, the Chinese Association of Science and Technology, the Ministry of Education, the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences, the Chinese Academy of Engineering, the National Federation of Academics and the People's Government of Jiangsu Province. The competition attracted more than 2,700 colleges and universities across the country and more than 3 million college students to sign up for the competition, and more than 400,000 works were examined. After multiple selections, 1,283 works from 472 colleges and universities finally entered the finals. After fierce competition, 96 prizes were rewarded.
Our school's work "Intelligent Gloves: high-precision translation system based on self-supply energy and flexible sensing" is jointly guided by Wang Gaosheng, Zou Hongxiang and Bai Quan of the School of Mechanical Engineering. The participating students are Liu Dingyang, Du Kevin, Jiang Jie, Li Qiheng, Huang Xingyue, Chen Zhuangzhi, He Xiangjin and Zeng Han. This work focuses on technological innovation in the field of barrier-free communication, showing outstanding application potential and scientific research value.
The school attaches great importance to the organization and preparation of this "Challenge Cup" competition. The College of Excellence Engineers and the League Committee actively cooperated to select promising projects. The participating teams spared no effort to innovate and strive for excellence, which fully demonstrated the hard work of teachers and students and their pursuit of excellence, and also reflected the school's innovative talent training and firm pursuit of scientific research and education.
It is reported that after more than 30 years of development, the "Challenge Cup" National College Student Extracurricular Academic Science and Technology Competition has become the largest, highest-level and most influential scientific and technological innovation competition for college students in China, and is known as the "Olympic" of scientific and technological innovation competition for Chinese college students. We won the special prize in this competition, which is a concentrated display of the achievements of our school's innovation and entrepreneurship education, and will further inspire our students to devote themselves to the practice of academic science and technology innovation.
