
On July 11, the 2nd Anniversary Commemoration of the Greater Bay Area Textile and Garment Alumni Association of Hunan Institute of Engineering and the Industrial Development Forum themed “Textile, Dyeing, Art, Apparel and Deep Industrial Chain” were held in Guangzhou. Cao Zhiling, Secretary of the University Party Committee, Xiang Qian, Deputy Secretary of the University Party Committee, relevant persons-in-charge of the Alumni Liaison Center, the School of Textile and Garment, the School of Materials and Chemical Engineering, as well as representatives of the expert advisory group gathered with alumni from all sectors of the Greater Bay Area. They reviewed the two-year development of the alumni association and discussed cutting-edge trends in the textile and garment industry.
In his address, Cao Zhiling extended warm congratulations on the 2nd anniversary of the founding of the Greater Bay Area Textile and Garment Alumni Association, and fully recognized the achievements made by the association over the past two years in pooling industrial resources, boosting alumni cooperation and supporting the development of the alma mater. He pointed out that the association has brought together more than 200 alumni engaged in the textile and garment industry across the Greater Bay Area. It has built a regular exchange platform covering segmented sectors including raw materials, weaving, printing and dyeing, chemical engineering, garment manufacturing, trade and equipment, and hosted a number of professional lectures, industry exchanges and technical seminars, offering valuable support for the growth of young alumni. At present, the university is striving toward the strategic goal of “Double Promotion”. He expressed the hope that the alumni association will continue to serve as a bridge, deepen the integration of industry and education, promote the initiative of “Alumni Returning to Hunan”, and contribute to the high-quality development of the university.
During the ceremony, Zhang Hong, Director of the Alumni Liaison Center, read out the list of newly added council members.
Xiang Qian presented appointment certificates to the new council members. She congratulated the newly appointed members and hoped that they would earnestly fulfill their duties to jointly build a more dynamic and influential Greater Bay Area Textile and Garment Alumni Association.
In her speech, President Lou Saiying reviewed the development of the alumni association over the past two years. She expressed gratitude for the care and guidance from the alma mater, dedicated support from the expert advisory group, hard work of the Council and Secretariat, and enthusiastic participation of all alumni. She stated that adhering to the founding philosophy of “Unite as One, Stay Professional, Pursue Co-creation and Shared Benefits”, the association will further optimize its organizational structure, recruit young alumni, organize industry salons and corporate exchange visits, and encourage alumni to join hands to tackle bottlenecks in industrial transformation.
Alumni Xiong Wei, Yu Shaozhong and Luo Xiaojun delivered presentations respectively on research on the textile and garment industry in Southeast Asia and overseas development opportunities, success formulas for the textile and garment sector, and AI trust strategy. Closely aligned with cutting-edge industry trends, their sharing received an enthusiastic response from the audience.
