Students from our School Achieved Great Results in the 14th Hunan University Students' Chemistry and Chemical Engineering Competition

    Recently, the 14th Hunan College Student Chemistry and Chemical Engineering Competition sponsored by Hunan Provincial Department of Education was successfully held in Changsha. More than 800 contestants from 32 universities in the province competed in innovative works, experimental skills, chemical engineering design, virtual simulation and other four categories of competitions. The team of our school is led by Zhang Ru, deputy dean of the School of Materials and Chemical Engineering, with on-site guidance from Pi Shaofeng, Liu Huajie, Xie Yanjun, Li Yonglin and other teachers. After two days of fierce competition, our students win one first prize, one second prize and four third prizes with outstanding performance.

    The School of Materials and Chemical Engineering attaches great importance to the discipline competitions, and insists on the reform and innovation of teaching. In the past three years, with the strong support of the school's enrollment, employment, innovation and entrepreneurship guidance office, students have made great achievements in various discipline competitions and innovation and entrepreneurship activities, and won more than 130 national and provincial honors.

    The Hunan College Students' Chemistry and Chemical Engineering Discipline Competition is sponsored by Hunan Provincial Department of Education, co-organized by Hunan Chemistry and Chemical Engineering Society and Hunan College Students' Discipline Competition Committee, and all universities in the province take turns to undertake it. This competition aims to guide and promote the reform of training mode, practical teaching and information-based teaching for talents cultivation in colleges and universities in Hunan Province, comprehensively improve college students' experimental skills, innovative thinking, engineering design and virtual simulation design ability, and provide oppotunities for outstanding talents in chemistry and chemical engineering to stand out.
