On December 7th, the 7^th Global Campus Artificial Intelligence Algorithm Elite Competition (AIC Competition) concluded successfully in Beijing. Our university’s team demonstrated outstanding performance in the “Smart City Autonomous Driving Algorithm Application” track, securing a national first prize with their solid professional expertise, innovative algorithm design, and excellent practical skills.

Organized by the Jiangsu Association for Artificial Intelligence, this competition featured six tracks centered on the “AI+” knowledge system and industry talent demands, comprehensively evaluating participants' abilities in algorithm innovation, engineering practice, and teamwork. The Smart City Autonomous Driving Algorithm Application track focused specifically on the practical application of AI in intelligent transportation, posing high requirements for algorithm development, scenario adaptation, and system optimization.

During the provincial stage, our students achieved notable results, including 1 first prize, 2 second prizes, and 1 third prize. Advancing to the national finals, our team, consisting of automation majors Chen Xiang, Deng Hongtao, and Deng Zhixiang, remained composed and collaborated closely. They meticulously progressed through each stage, from problem analysis and solution design to model training and validation. The algorithm developed by the team excelled in core autonomous driving modules such as environment perception, path planning, and decision-making control, earning unanimous recognition from the expert judges and ultimately winning the national first prize.

This achievement is a testament to the diligent study and active innovation of our students, reflecting the effectiveness of our university’s talent cultivation in disciplines such as artificial intelligence and embedded systems. Our university will continue to uphold the fundamental mission of fostering virtue and nurturing talent, emphasize the integration of cutting-edge technology and practical teaching, actively build platforms for academic competitions, encourage student participation in technological innovation, and continuously enhance their professional competence and innovative capabilities.
