time:2024-10-30        hits:

On October 20th, the 10th Hunan Provincial College Students' Urban and Rural Planning Design Competition concluded. Under the meticulous guidance of teachers Yang Ning and Xie Jing from the School of Architecture and Engineering of our university, Liu Shiyu, an architecture major student won the first prize at the provincial level, and Liu Jin won the second prize at the provincial level. This achievement marks a new breakthrough for our university students participating in this competition.

This competition was hosted by the Hunan Provincial Department of Education and undertaken by Hunan City University, with nearly 22 colleges and universities across the province participating. The competition was themed "Inclusion · Sharing · Renewal," focusing on urban planning such as "urban renewal design," "age-friendly design," and "healthy communities."

The competition aims to further promote the reform of professional courses in urban and rural planning disciplines in Hunan Province, to facilitate exchanges among urban and rural planning majors in colleges and universities within Hunan Province, and to comprehensively improve the quality of talent cultivation in urban and rural planning-related majors. The final round of the competition was conducted in the form of a 6.5-hour on-site planning and design session, with participants from full-time college students majoring in urban and rural planning, architecture, and landscape architecture.

This event not only greatly stimulated students' interest in professional learning but also helped to enhance the teaching quality of the faculty. It encouraged both teachers and students to think more deeply and gain more inspiration for the future of urban and rural planning, contributing to the creation of a better life for the people.
